# VPN Detected

Here at AuthenticateMe, we scan every user that verifies through our site and app to ensure that they are not utilizing a known ISP that has recent bot abuse, or suspicious activities.

## Solution

If you are indeed using a VPN client on your device, please temporarily switch it off during the verification session. You can re-enable it after you are verified.

All internet connections from schools, offices, public internet, shared community or suburban village WiFi etc. are not allowed and will result in this error or similar as they are a shared network through a cloud service provider (CSP).

**We strongly recommend that you verify using a reputable & known consumer home / private broadband WiFi internet service in your facility.**
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
An alternative option if the above suggestions aren't helpful- will be to utilize your mobile data (LTE / 4G / 5G) to verify on our site. It is not recommended over your broadband connection as mobile network addresses are often dynamic addresses (changing from time to time) which can lead to false alternative account warnings.\
\
If verifying on mobile data also yields a VPN error, you will have to approach the server you're attempting to verify to give you an exemption. This decision will be decided by the server's moderation team.
